March 8th: WFH success at technology event in western Sweden!

WFH was invited long ago to an event to educate younger hard of hearing people and their parents about what technology that is available on the market and how it can help each individual in order to live a good life. Johan Hammarström held a speech about his life as a hearing impaired individual. His battle to become a pilot despite the resisting aviation authority. Also how he has realized how important it is to be open about the hearing loss – not to hide it behind your personality. After the lecture the “famous” World Flight for Hearing bracelets were handed out to the meeting participants and it didn´t take many minutes before the whole crowd had bright green band our their wrists. Many of the parents visiting the lecture came to discuss how important it is with “heroes” within the hard of hearing world. Something for the children to be inspired of! After hundreds of “good luck” we left the building and took our bags and “marketing equipment” and travelled to the Swedish head office of GN ReSound in order to pick up some more supporter bracelets. But it turned out that there were almost no bracelets left – they have become such a success!

Meanwhile Johan is out travelling, meeting hard of hearing people and media prior to the departure, Henrik and Martin are doing some great work with the final preparations. For instance, we have had a hard time finding out what kind of radio communication equipment we need in Asia and over the Pacific Ocean. Also all the logotypes have been fitted on our aircraft!
