March 15th - Expedition start!

So, the big day has finally arrived, expedition start of World Flight for Hearing! The preceding days have been long working days with only a few hours of sleep, the day before today was no exception. The team arrived early in the morning to barkarby airport puttning in the final bits and pieces for departure. Johan held a presentation about the project for family, friends, press and other people who had showed up at barkarby. Thanks all of you that were there (and those of you that wanted but couldn't make it)!

I had got the wrong bag with me to barkarby with my personal belongings such as toothbrush, passports and some other small stuff. I finally got hold of my right bag and I had to put those things in the airplane in a rush just before takeoff. The swedish television was filming exactly when I did this, must have seen a little funny, putting in only a toothbrush and a passport for trip around the world =)

The takeoff took place exactly 09.48 local swedish time, I can tell you, there were three happy faces in the cockpit when our wheels left the ground!

After a short stop in Gothenburg with a project-presentation and a very tasteful lunch together with our main sponsor.
At the airport we had a namegiving cermony of our new home, given the name "World Flyer". This will be the new home for us the next coming months, a home consisting of approx 3 squaremeters without a kitchen, quite a high price per squaremeter but worth every penny!

After starting up our engines Gothenburg Control cleared us to Roskilde in Denmark at flightlevel 100 (approx 10000 feet). It was a strange but inspiring feeling being handed over from Malmö Control to Copenhagen Approach knowing that the way back home goes eastbound.

We touched down in a misty and snowy Denmark, giving us longing feelings for the warm sun at a lower latitude.

We got a room for the night at the Danish Aviation College, thanks DAC! Tomorrow we will set heading for Austria and Wiener Neustadt where we will visit Diamond Aircraft for some final adjustments of the aircraft.

That's all for tonight, time to get some very well needed sleep!

Hello.
I from Sweden and I do a lot of pc-flying and I would like to ask someone good guys about. flightlevel.
I reed above here that flightlevel 100 is approx 10 000 feet.

So fl 50 is 5000 feet.
And fl 300 is 30 000 feet.

Hey, I think I have fix it.

Or, is it wrong thinking?

Greatful for a answer.

By the way, nice and good article above.
