May 6th: Ok weather to Jakarta

After an early wakeup-call before the sunrise we headed for the airport to finish up the preparations for the long flight to Jakarta. The weather forecast showed thunderstorms on the first and last part of the 950nm long trip. After som divertion around some heavy rain we broke out in the blue sky over Sumantra.
During the 7 hours and 2 minutes long flight we could enjoy the view of high mountains covered by the jungle to the longstretched lowland of forest and swamp. During the descend into Jakarta the thunderstorms developed in the horizon and we faced heavy rain and low visibility during final approach. After our landing a commuter airplane had to do a go-around because of windshear, we just arrived in time!

Tomorrow we will takeoff for Bali!
