June 30: Spending time on the US westcoast

After we arrived to the US westcoats in Crecent City we set heading south towards Long Beach in the Los Angeles Area. On the flight down along the beautiful coastline towards Long Beach we got clearence from a very helpful ATC controller to do an IFR radar vectored scenic flight over San Francisco! We flew over Alcatraz, Downtown and we could also spot the Golden gate bridge just under a low cloud cover, really nice!
It just started getting dark when we came in over Los Angeles, it was an impressing sight of doing the approach over this huge city having streets and cars and houses as long as you could see across the horizon. We landed in Long Beach because it was time to do another 100 hour inspection of the aircraft as well as we needed to take out the big ferrytank and put in the backseats again. While the aircraft was serviced we took the opportunity to travel down to San Diego, among other things we enjoyed the San Diego Aerospace Museum which holds pretty much every part of the aviation history you can think of!

During our stay here I would just like to say thanks to US Aero who has taken very good care of us!

The plan is now to continue further south into Mexico.

Over and out!
